RSL welcomes new associate member RSL Hay Branch welcomed their newest associate member, Samantha Newnham, at the Branches Christmas get-together. Samantha is the assistant principal of the School of the Air and was given the privilege of cutting the Christmas cake. RSL members held their final meeting for the year, before ‘inviting the ladies in’ for afternoon tea and a quiet Christmas drink, in the RSL Rooms at the Library Complex. A beautiful cold buffet followed by incredible desserts was enjoyed by those present. One of Lyn’s salads was ambrosia salad: a sweet accompaniment to savoury dishes which can also double as a dessert. The recipe on Page 22 is not Lyn’s recipe, as any good cook knows, you never share your secrets. CWA has had a very successful 2013 with the Devonshire tea stand at the Hay Show and the Flower Show raising funds which allow CWA to donate back to the local community. CWA meetings will recommence on the first Friday in February (7th) at 10am in the RSL Rooms at the Library Complex. 8
