Small schools from Conargo, Blighty
and Mayrung combined for a school
excursion to Hay in October. Visiting
Shear Outback first then lunch in the
park, the teachers and students
finished their day with a trip to the
Hay Gaol.
The children were fascinated by some
of the “old stuff” displayed in the cells
and asked many questions. John
Matthews, tour guide for the day,
answered the kids and gave
explanation on many of the items. To
one little girls question, at the ‘escape
cell’, “Where is he?” John gave a
