The October meeting of the Hay Branch CWA was one of excitement as the group decided how to distribute the Flower Show funds. CWA News Many excellent suggestions were received, and much discussion had on which charities and organisations would be recipients this time round. The final results are: Hay Days, Little Athletics, Hay Cubs and Scouts, Barnabas House Counseling Service, Hay Working Dog Group and Hay High School Agriculture Farm. The groups were presented with their cheques at the Hay Library on Friday 1st November at 2pm. CWA is also able to donate to each of our local schools for Prize giving at the end of the school year. Booligal, Carrathool, Hay Public, Hay High School, St Mary’s Catholic School and Hay School of the Air all will all receive vouchers to be spent on books at Hay News Agency for their presentation evenings. Liz Gibson, Andrea McFarland (Sec) and Gwenda McNamara (Pres) proudly display the E. Cattanach Trophy Certificate for participations. Secretary, Andrea McFarland said, “I must admit, we all felt elated that we were able to support the Hay community and came away from the meeting with a warm fuzzy feeling. “ The effort and hard work for the Flower Show has certainly paid off. Also at the meeting, members were advised that the Hay Branch CWA had been presented with an award for Participation, at the Group Conference held at Naranderra on the 8th October. Liz Gibson explained that the award was received as Hay Branch have had up to 5 executives at the group level for several years and our overall participation as a local group for Hay has been excellent. CWA have changed their meeting days to the first Friday of each month starting 7th February 2014. All women are invited to attend .
