Murder at

Guests at the 40th birthday celebrations of Kathryn Miller were transported to the Deadwood Saloon circa 1870, at the end of June. The Deadwood Saloon, the only saloon in the middle of the plains, like the legendary town of Brigadoon, only appears every once in a while.
Celebrations of Catherine’ s milestone birthday were interrupted by the murder of a well known gambler to the area. The victim, winner of a poker tournament held the night before was shot, just before being awarded prize money of $ 1000,000. The prize money mysteriously disappeared at the time of the shooting.
Doors to the saloon were immediately closed by the local sheriff and marshal and no one allowed to leave until investigations were completed. The owner of the saloon and the birthday girl kindly fed and watered all suspects and witness’ s while the Sheriff and Marshal conducted the enquiry.

Illegal poker games were also organised by a‘ certain female’ who complained that her $ 100,000 stash had also been stolen. When asked how the investigation was going, the tightlipped sheriff replied“ We are questioning a number of suspects. Nothing has been confirmed as yet. It may take some time.”
The investigation also uncovered embezzled funds and an insurance swindle.
Local Senator“ Honest Pops” used the opportunity to gain campaign funds and votes.“ I am an honest man,” claimed the politician.
After a lengthy investigation, lasting several hours, exhibits were put on display and the murderer finally revealed.
Reporters for the Deadwood Daily paper have been asked not to reveal the names of those charged with various crimes, in order that the criminals might have a better chance of gaining fair trials.
Who committed this dastardly deed? The victim helped in the investigation into his murder.
Saloon‘ girls’ arriving for work were shocked at the“ killing of one of our good clients, cough cough, friends”.
Gossip was rife with suspicion and speculation thrown around like confetti.
Kathryn Miller celebrated her 40th birthday by transforming the Maude Hall into a wild west saloon. Family and friends dressed suitably for the occasion. Many said it was the best murder they had ever been to.
It has also been whispered that an October Fest celebration will be held at Maude in October.
Gun totting Outlaws joined the party where bribery and gossip raged throughout an afternoon of hilarious investigation.
Undertaker Fred had a busy day of it at Kathryn’ s party. Firstly measuring up wanted outlaws“ just in case things don’ t go well today”, and then as celebrations were about to begin, Fred was again called into to action to measure the‘ victim’ of the shooting.
