Making craft items for the Hay show and representing Hay Guides at ANZAC Day, girl Guides are very busy. Guides meet every Wednesday 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Hay Girl Guides have been busy recently with chocolate sales, Harmony Day, ANZAC Day followed by an activity day at the Guides Hall.
Marching in the ANZAC Parade not only reinforces the message behind the memorial day, the activity one task towards the girls ANZAC badge. The girls have also baked ANZAC cookies, made peace doves and paper wreaths.
With the Hay Show only four months away, guides are also practising their sewing and craft skills for entries into the show. Which will also count towards challenges.
Also on the agenda is the health and fitness badge. The girls each have a mp of Australia and for each walk they take with guides they colour a foot print; when all are coloured the map is a completed challenge.
