The first public library in Moncton was on the corner
of Archibald and Main Streets. The library opened on
February 12, 1927 in a house that was built in the 1850s
by Duncan Robertson, a foreman at the Salter shipyard.

Synagogue began on July 27, 1926 on
Steadman Street. The cornerstone
was laid by Isaac Selick on
November 16 of that year.
