TAKING PRIDE in our ROOTS Margaret Patricia Eaton Terry Steeves, who’s chaired the Albert County Exhibition for 14 years, is passionate about the 106 year-old event. “It brings the community together and brings people back to their roots,” he says, citing people returning from across Canada and the US. It’s also bringing generations together and keeping traditions alive. “How many younger people know how to make a quilt or knit a pair of socks or plant their own vegetable garden or understand the importance of bee pollination for our food supply?” he asks. The exhibition he maintains is the last link with a rapidly disappearing way of life. “If we lose our sense of where we came from, we’ll have nothing left. This is our heritage.” ALBERT COUNTY EXHIBITION SEPTEMBER 12 to 15 5895 king street Riverside-Albert albertcountyexhibition.com also on facebook • • • • • Proudly serving the Community of Greater Moncton and South East New Brunswick for over 25 years Specializing in Traditional Casket Services, Cremation and Celebration of Life Services Prearranged funerals with Licensed Funeral Directors Reception Facilities Monuments Our Team of Directors: Ian Ferguson, Wendell Ferguson, Calvin Muise, Andrew Jackson 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB • 858-1995 • www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com • [email protected] Your peace of mind is our main concern
