FINAL THOUGHTS
My thoughts / tips on using recordable buttons :
Great way to work on listening , reading , writing and speaking Make sure that your buttons are always numbered . Set clear expectations and rules for how these buttons are going to used There is a caveat to using these buttons , students can record over them ; however , the velcro will let you know that they are taking it off the board and that is the only way to rerecord . I also let the students know that I know what is recorded on each button and if I hear anything to the contrary , an individual , pair or group of students may receive an alternative to this activity . I highly recommend these buttons for your students . Some words of wisdom , keep a journal of what you are recording on the buttons for each lesson , so you don ’ t have to reinvent the wheel by rewriting new sentences or questions every time .
Also create a schedule of when you plan to use them for your various levels , so you can record / re-record , as needed . Have a student roster of the rotation or when students will have their turn . Make sure that it is movable so the teacher can move to a corner or in the hallway so you can hear easily . Finally , you can provide choice for your students and students can press the buttons as needed .
The wonderful thing about using these recordable buttons is that you can use them as many times as you would like in your stations or by themselves . It provides an element of instruction that is unique for the students and requires them to interact with Latin .
If you have any questions about using the buttons , feel free to contact me at Shirley . Hall @ vbschools . com . My suggestion is to try one way and if you are like me , you may end up buying more . My students enjoyed it and hopefully your students will too .
