Pear Deck has received a lot of attention this past year , I haven ’ t read much about
Flashcard Factory and it is such a great resource for student engagement and creation ! This past year it helped foster partner and group work when in-person students were not allowed to share materials . The only preparation required of teachers is to create the vocabulary list on Pear Deck . After logging into Pear Deck , choose Pear Deck Vocabulary to create your list . Let Pear Deck do the rest !
Flashcard Factory pairs ( no pun intended ) students up digitally to create a sentence and an image to illustrate a vocabulary word .
When both students are happy with their contribution , they submit it . Students communicate so much during this process , but it ’ s just the beginning ! After enough words have been illustrated , the instructor moves the Factory to Quality Control .
Quality Control may be my students ’ favorite part . Each sentence / image pair is displayed for approval . This is when you discuss students ’ creations . Sometimes a word was misunderstood or an image is simply incomprehensible . Then it can be rejected from the factory . More often , however , this is an opportunity to celebrate students ’ artwork and sentences .
