WAYS TO MAINTAIN A POSITIVE BODY IMAGE
Avoiding your body:
We all know how to maintain a bad body image it is to avoid your body. Well we want to help you out. In order to break the cycle, you must STOP Avoiding Your BODY! Face up to your body because we all get lumps and bumps here and there. It is totally normal for everyone to get a sense of them not feeling confident in their own body. But to overcome being uncomfortable in your own body you need to get used to your body. You need to start accepting your body shape and that there is no way that you can change your bone and body structure. If you are constantly avoiding the mirror than start approaching them and be confident and think of the positives not the negatives. Start looking at yourself as a whole person and don’t just focus on the small parts of your body that you don’t like. Be more confident with yourself and try out new activities such as going to the beach, going out shopping- trying new clothes here and there even go dancing. The more activities you do the more you feel comfortable with your body and the more you actually start to accept your body. By doing this you are overcoming your negative thinking and you are more likely to develop a better and more positive body image.
stop checking
It is totally fine if you check the mirror here and there but sometimes people go too far and are constantly checking the mirror. Stop It and relax, your beautiful the way you are and you don’t need to be constantly judging yourself and look into the mirror. Looking in the mirror can bring a lot of negative thoughts to you because you are judging yourself on the small things that are not even that important. It could be a small scar or a lump or bump or anything else. It could be because you don’t like your thighs, or your stomach, or your bum, or your boobs, or even your hips. Well unfortunately you can’t do much to change your body structure because it all comes in your genes and in your DNA. Usually when people look in the mirror they are looking mostly for the negatives and are not focusing on the positives. They are checking about how “disgusting” they look and they are pinching the sides of their stomach to see how “fat” they are. If you have a habit of constantly checking the mirror than you should start writing down a list of your “checking” behaviours and make a change to it. If you have a habit of pinching your body to see how much “fat” you have there than keep count of it and if you do it 25 times a day than decrease it to 20, then 15, then 10 and then completely stop. Give up your habit of doing that and be more confident in your skin. bones and body.
