Guildford Grammar Preparatory School Writing Festival 2019 Lies by Isabella McAtee (continued) 21/7/2010 Wednesday 6/8/2010 Friday 17/10/2016 Thursday Today I was announced as the most academic student and got an award. I hope I made my Dad proud. Tamika is going on holiday with her parents and needs someone to look after her sister, Cassidy, I asked Leigh and Sam (her husband) if she could stay, she’s only 7, so it shouldn’t be too hard. They said yes, so I told Tamika and she was really happy, they didn’t have enough money for Cass to come. They are going on holiday for Tami’s birthday, although it was on the 19th. My favourite teacher, Mr. Walker, wasn’t here today, apparently, he was sick but I thought he just needed a break, he had to run this year’s scholarship applications and had to choose who gets in and who doesn’t. This year’s decision was harder to make because there were more applicants and less open spots. Tami’s family want Cass to get one when she’s old enough, Tamika got one for vocals in year 6. Cassidy plays grade 2 piano so I think she’ll get one anyway. 28/7/2010 Wednesday 8/10/2016 Tuesday Today Tamika won $15,000 at a competition for best singer! She split it with me because I always paid for her music lessons, I bought a Maine Coon cat for $7000 (Fun Fact! Maine Coon’s are very loving and rare breeds and live for around 20 years!) and named her Sabrina, she loves Tami and I a lot. Maine Coon cats have a waterproof coat of skin under their fur, and she loves coming to the beach with us, yes, the cat loves swimming at the beach. Sabba gets along great with Genesis, in fact they’re best friends! Tami’s coming back tomorrow and I’m going to surprise her! I’m taking her out that night, she told me she wanted to spend more time with me, her wish, is my command. Also, looking after Cassidy is harder than I thought, she’s gluten intolerant so I need to make special meals for her. Today was incredible, I found my diary while packing up to move! I have no idea how long it’s been lost for, I think almost 6 years! Well I had my 21st birthday this year already and Tamika turned 21 on the 19th 3 months ago. I’m moving to the city with Tamika, she wanted me to move to help her, she says it’s so hard being blind. So, I’m moving, plus my University is near the city anyway! 1/8/2010 Sunday Tamika loved dinner the other night, she said she was surprised I stayed by her side all these years with her vision problems, and she thought I would leave her when I found out she was blind. I told her I would never leave her at the toughest time of her life! 31 18/10/2016 Saturday Today was a great day, Tamika and I got two pet guinea pigs, mine is a boy, his name is Bolt, named after my father’s horse. Tamika got a girl, her name is Jasmine, named after her first puppy, Jas was a rescue cross breed, they found her in the woods alone, all scratched up and skinny. She was taken to a shelter a few years after because Cassidy was allergic to long haired dogs, that’s why I bought her a short-haired lab. Jas and Bolt were actually from the same litter, they were twins! SO DARN CUTE! They all get along with Genesis and Sabba!
