he PRA recently elected its new
Board of Directors for 20132015, during the PRA’s annual
membership meeting on June 19
in Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Re-elected for another term in the PRA Board
were President of Automatic Centre Samie Lim;
Chairman of the Body Shop Vicente N. Munoz Sr.;
Chairman / CEO of Celine Chan Kok Bin; CEO of
Cinderella Arthur G. Coronel; President of Central
Books Ma. Alegria S. Limjoco; COO of Duty Free
Philippines, Inc. Lorenozo C. Formoso; CEO of
Golden ABC Bernie H . Liu; President of Mercury
Drug Vivian Que Azcona; President of Picture City
Atty. Paul Santos; EVP and COO of Wilcon Builders
Depot Rosemarie B. Ong; President of Robinsons
Recreation Corp. Frederick D. Go; President of SM
Department’s Store Jorge T. Mendiola; President
of Sports House Mars C. Chua; and Chairman of

PRA board is the President of Shopwise and former
President of PRA Bienvenido V. Tantoco III.
The Annual Meting was also highlighted by a
keynote presentation of Police S/Supt. Adriatico
B. del Camat Jr., Chief Regional Police Community
Relations Division, who tackled “Creating a
Safe and Secure Shopping Environment”. In
his talk, he highlighted the core concept of their
correspondence that citizens take part in fighting
criminality and promoting public safety. It is
through partnership with the community that the
law enforces able to promote and establish a safe
and secure shopping environment in all sectors
of retail. He further stressed the Doctrine of
Reciprocal responsibility that in order to address
solutions to peace and order issues, there shoud be
a 50/50 percent sharing of responsibility from the
police and the community. Law enforces are on the
preventive and reactive side while the community
could be also in the preventive side by refusing to
be a victim, a criminal, or commiting any violence
or offenses.
The new Board immediately convened after the
meeting and elected Lorenzo ‘Enchong’ Formoso,
COO of Duty Free Phils as new President of the
association for the new term. Immediate Past
president Frederick Go was elected Chairman.

assumes the Chairmanship of PRA for the
term 2013-2015, replacing Bernie Liu.
“To say that the past 2 years have been
challenging would be an understatement. We
have been confronted with external challenges,
yet we managed to turn these into successes”,
he said during his speech at the PRA’s Annual
Membership Meeting & Elections. Go’s two
year term focused on upgrading the skills
and competencies of retailers, specially the
SMEs which comprise over 95% of the retail
industry. He introduced the first Retail
Excellence Series, monthly seminars on key
retail focused topics.
One of the best highlights of his term was
winning the bid to host the 2015 Asia Pacific
Retailers Convention & Exhibition (APRCE)
which was hosted by the Philippines 20 years
ago.
Go also assumes the Overall Chairmanship of
the APRCE.
