Born Michael Collins Ajereh in Umuahia,
Abia state of south-east Nigeria, and
brought up in Lagos South-west Nigeria,
the boy who would later become popu-
larly known as Don Jazzy developed a
flair for singing and playing musical in-
struments from a very early age. His fa-
ther Collins Ajereh was an actor and pro-
ducer, perhaps accounting for where
Michael got some of his prolific skills
from. Michael moved to London af-
ter he graduated from the Ambrose
Alli University in Ekpoma, Edo State,
South-south Nigeria. While in Lon-
don, and in between several odd jobs
including a stint at Macdonalds as a
security guard, Jazzy perfected his
craft working with the likes of DBanj,
JJC and the 419 Squad.
He returned to Nigeria in the year
2004 to found Mo Hits Records with
his friend and partner and the rest as
they say is history, as he has gone
on to produce & work with several
acts that read like the who-is-who
in the music industry including D
Banj, Wande Coal, Dr. Sid, Tiwa Sav-
age, Olamide, P Square, 9ice, Snoop
Dogg, Kanye West and JayZ amongst
countless others. Don Jazzy has be-
come a spinning machine for hit mu-
sic producing and giving vocals to
several successful musical projects
that have made him a household
name in music industry in Africa.
Following irreconcilable differences
with his friend and partner DBanj,
Don Jazzy
