Love Story: Divine Love Pastor Quoizell & Shawnta Gilliard
Shanna: How many years were you two married?
Pastor Q:( looks up in the air to think) Shawnta: We have been married over 3 years babe. Pastor Q: That ' s right. We got married on August 3,
2013.
Shanna: Where did you guys meet?
Pastor Q: We met in high school. Shawnta:( jokingly) Did you meet me or did I meet you?
( laughing)
Pastor Q: In high school, I heard the name Shawnta
before but I didn ' t know we were classmates. We may have been to middle school together.
Shawnta: I was one of the quiet girls.
Shanna: Pastor Q, how did you know Shawnta was the
one for you?
Pastor Q: My prayer. I prayed for certain things in a
woman. Shawnta embodied all that I asked God for. I saw her on Facebook, mind you, I knew she was from Georgetown and her posts were always about God and they were quite encouraging posts. I kept seeing her inspirational posts on Facebook. So, one day I checked out her pics and was like, ' She looks good '!!!!! Then I thought,‘ I am going to marry her’. She was what I specifically asked God for. She loved the Lord and that was the deal maker. Right then I knew she was going to be Mrs. Gilliard.
Shawnta: When I was single, I wrote the Lord a letter
in my phone about my future husband. I asked Him for the spirit of discernment. I asked the Lord to please give me a sign when I meet the man who would be my husband. I asked the Lord to have him to compare me to roses. That would be the sign I would recognize him by. I wrote the letter in my phone and I never told anyone or shared it with anyone but God. When Q and I started talking, he still was living in Virginia. We would talk on the phone every day. One day, he took a picture of a bed of roses. It had to be hundreds of them and he sent it to me and said the roses were so beautiful and they made him think of me. It was at that moment, I knew I was going to be Mrs. Gilliard.
Pastor Q: When I moved away from Georgetown in
1994 to Virginia, I had no intentions of moving back to Georgetown. My aunt moved me there for bigger and better opportunities. But God had a plan for me here in Georgetown. God set me up. I never wanted to move
