Terry: I said yes!!!! Then I left. She was getting her hair fixed and there was no need to stay at
that point. I had to start planning a wedding.
Glenda: At that time, we didn ' t have anything. We were planning a wedding and was broke. I
was working at McDonald ' s in Georgetown.
Terry: And I was doing construction with Lee Holmes Construction Co. But we were
determined to have this wedding!
Glenda: We had a big wedding!!! But back then, my dress was $ 50 and my veil was $ 35. All of
our family members pitched in to help pay for the wedding.
Terry: We gave the pastor
$ 20 to marry us. I had to rent the tux and my guys got theirs. On our 20th anniversary, we renewed our vows and invited everyone who was in the first wedding to be in the 2nd wedding. Our wedding had the oldest flower girls ever!
Everyone:( laughing)
Shanna: You two have a
healthy, strong, loving marriage. What advice would you give to other married couples?
Terry: Not all of our days were sunny, but this is what I would tell other couples,
communication, communication, communication!
Glenda: I agree. Communication, you have got to talk to one another.
