Pastor Q: The food was really great. I came back and forth from Virginia to Georgetown to
take Shawnta out to and meet her face to face.
Shawnta: Yes. He took me to a floral shop and told me to pick out any flower I wanted. I picked
out some gorgeous white lilies.
Pastor Q: Of course she picked one of the most
expensive flowers.
Everyone:( laughing)
Pastor Q: Since we technically started dating online, I
didn ' t get to see her in person until 6 months later after we started talking. I traveled 21 hours on the Greyhound bus from Virginia with 3 layovers to see her and take her out. When I first saw her I was like ' She is really short '!!!( laughing)
Shawnta:( laughing).
Pastor Q: I was ecstatic to see her. After half a year of
talking on the phone, I was ready to see her. By the time I got to her, I was thinking ' Thank you God '!
Shawnta: Honey, it wasn ' t 6 months, it was 3 months.
( lovingly quarreling)
Pastor Q: 6 months( lovingly quarreling)
Shawnta: No, baby, it was 3 months.( Lovingly quarreling
ensues)
Pastor Q:( thinking back) Yes, you are right. It was 3
months. I felt like 6 being away from you, but yes it was 3. I went to church with her when I came home also. Part of our date and my visit was not only to feed our appetite together but also to feed our spirits together. I attended church with her and the pastor at the time invited me back to speak to his congregation. The spiritual portion of our relationship is vital. A spiritual relationship has to be taught as well as the physical.
Shanna: Shawnta, what were your thoughts about Pastor Q ministering to you while you guys
were dating?
Shawnta: Nowadays, it is sometimes very hard finding a true man of God. It felt really good
that this Man of God had me covered, because God has him covered. So, I am doubly, triply, quadruply covered!( laughing)
Pastor Q: I felt a sense of completeness with Shawnta. It was like, I ' m here now. This was my
calling; this was part of my flock. We have been charged with doing God ' s work.
Shanna: How do you deal with marital obstacles?
Pastor Q: We learn to table talk. We put things all on the table and talk about it. We deal with other.
Shawnta: We also agree to go through what every obstacle set before us. Somebody needs to
break the ice. We never go to sleep angry; we give less lip and listen more. When we try to handle things without God, it gets all messed up. Keep God in everything.
