ASSESSMENT OF LEARNING
The assignment for each module is to write an academic paper. Each module has an aim and outcomes to guide the focus and content of the assignment. Assignments are designed to structure learning around your professional practice, through integration of theory and practice and development of an evidence base for practice. Assignment work helps to develop skills of critical reflection, problem-solving and critical thinking, with the aim of enhancing and developing professional practice.
SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT (FEEDBACK, MARKING AND GRADING)
Summative assessment applies the assignment submitted for formal marking. Your assignment is formally marked and graded. Additionally feedback is given to provide comment on the quality of your finished piece of work. Appendix A contains the SNM Post Registration Level 11 grading criteria. If your first submission is not satisfactory, then you may resubmit. However although the resubmission may be satisfactory it will be capped at grade D3 (i.e. 40%, the pass mark).
ASSESSMENT RESULTS ACCESSING E VISION (PROVISIONAL) – ELECTRONIC FEEDBACK AND
Students will receive a feedback sheet with comments from the marker and the grade awarded for their assessments via their student email account. Therefore, please ensure that you use your University email account at all times. Your grade can be located at the bottom of the feedback sheet. You will also be able to access your grade results by logging on to the ‘Current Students’ section of the University Web site, where you will see a link to E vision. (http://evision.dundee.ac.uk) You should log in with your university username and password, and your module results will be available by following the links on the screen. Please note that the provisional grades will be available via students’ E vision account within six weeks of submission. In addition, the grade awarded is ‘provisional’ until it has been internally and externally moderated and ratified by the Board of Examiners. All marks/grades pertaining to written assessment/examinations and assessment of practice must be approved by the Board of Examiners.
