The Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Commerce has recently launched a new online service for managing certificates of conformity (COCs), accessible through the National Single Window for Foreign Trade Procedures PortNet, with the aim of streamlining the processing of products subject to source control and facilitating the management of certificates of conformity, licenses and registrations granted to importers - Launch of online service for managing certificates of conformity / PortNet User Guide / Intertek Information / SGS Information / TUV Rheinland Information / Management of certificates of conformity at origin.
On the other hand, there is the “Cم” marking system, which aims to certify the conformity of industrial products governed by Law 24-09, that is, electrical products intended for use within certain voltage limits (known as low voltage [LV]), equipment covered by electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and toys.
As regards labelling, it is necessary to be aware of the requirements relating to the indication of the country of origin on certain specific goods (such as health and agricultural products) and the minimum information to be contained, such as the name and type of the product; name and address of the importer; mark; net quantity; ingredients; instructions for use and storage and production and expiration dates. Goods that can and cannot come into contact with food must be labeled with the information "for food use" or "for non-food use" (or the corresponding pictograms), respectively – Access2Markets | Procedures and Formalities | Summary | Packaging, Marking and Labeling Requirements.
The labelling should, in general, be in Arabic (and may also be in one or more foreign languages) in a visible, legible and indelible manner, although it is recommended that French be used as a second language.
