Due to the complexity of the Moroccan market, national exporting companies should be aware that approaching it presents several challenges, which must be overcome with the help of an official broker, importer or legal advisor, with a view to obtaining guidance on requirements for goods, labeling and other matters related to commercial transactions and conducting business.

Procedures and Formalities

The general and specific requirements required in Morocco for the import of a certain product can be found on Access2Markets. Once you have selected the product, you can click on each of the procedures or formalities to obtain more detailed information.

Since 2020, a procedure for verifying the conformity of imported industrial products defined by the Moroccan Government (Contrôle de conformité pour les exportations vers le Maroc) has been in force, with some of these being controlled at origin – Liste 1 - annexe: les produits contrôlés à l'origine (março 2022), which now includes textiles, and others upon arrival in Morocco - Liste 2: les produits contrôlés à l’arrivée au Maroc (dezembro 2022), using certified local laboratories.
