We can say that the Czech market is very similar to the Portuguese market, both in terms of population and purchasing power. Its population is around 10.5 million inhabitants and the per capita GDP in 2021 was USD 26,800 (according to The Economist Intelligence Unit - EIU).

The country is highly industrialized, especially in the automobile sector, being strongly oriented towards exports whose weight in the gross domestic product, considering goods and services, stood, in 2021, at 72.7%.

In 2021, there was a GDP increase of 3.5% and an increase of 2.2% is expected in 2022. However, high prices of goods, energy costs and interruptions in supply chains may have conditioned this growth.

In terms of business opportunities, Czechia could be an interesting market for areas such as electrical and electronic engineering, high-tech mechanical engineering, digital technologies (3D printing, Internet of Things and advanced robotics), new materials (based on nanomaterials), artificial intelligence, virtual/ augmented reality, wines, olive oil, canned fish, among others.
