TERMS YOU SHOULD KNOW
•
TF (tfp): Stands for « Trade for »
or « Trade for prints »
It means that the model is
offering you to model for free
in exchange of you taking the
pictures for free.
It also means that you have
some rights on the on the final
pictures (most likely, you’ll be
able to post them on your
portfolio)
if you are doing a TF photo
shoot, it’s really important that
you discuss your rights on the
picture. ( can you post them in
contests, on Facebook, etc?) If
possible, ask the model to sign
a release form.
( see “material” section)
•
MUA (HA): a MUA is a Make
up artist and a HA is a hair
artist.
A HMUA is an artist that does
both hair and makeup.
Sometimes, a model will ask
someone to do the hair and
makeup.
•
If you are shooting on a TF
basis, you always should offer
to pay half of the artist’s fees.
You should never pay entirely
for something that wasn't
your idea but if hiring the
artist was your idea, plan on
having to pay for it yourself.
