1.3.- THEORICAL FRAMEWORK :
According to (Nkechi ,2016) in the investigation performed in Zaria Nigeria. Whose objetive
was examine the impact of school facilities on the students performances in public
secondary schools in Giwa and Zaria education zones in Kaduna State. Using method
descriptive, is a method usually adopted when handling a large population especially on
issue of the moment that involve systematic collection of data from population of study
through the use of questionnaire. The population of study comprised all the principals and
teachers in government owned secondary school in Zaria and Giwa Education zones. There
are 34 principals and 590 teachers in Giwa educational zone there are 47 principals and
1422 teachers therefore, the total population is two 72 thousand and ninety two (2092) in
the secondary school in the two education zones. The researcher concludes that most of the
school did not have enough teaching facilities, but the available ones have a great impact on
the student's academic performance, such as videos, CDS and models.
This investigation influences our project in a positive way, thanks to this investigation we
take important points about the methodology and techniques of the research to guide us and
carry out an appropriate investigation to our topic, it also helps to know the importance of
physical facilities in the student's academic performance.(Machaquiza ,2019)
According to ( Olofunke , 2018) in the investigation “Physical facilities and strategies used
by teachers to improve pupils’ performance in social studies in Makueni County, Kenya”
made in Kenya is determine strategies used by teachers to improve pupils’ performance.The
Methodology consist an observation guide was used as check list on class learning
environment. It was used to determine the availability of resources in lower primary schools
and Questionnaire was used to collect data from teachers who taught social studies in
Kibwezi Zone lower primary schools.It concludes that On availability of classrooms, this
study established that big number of lower primary school classrooms were substandard.
This investigation influence in our proyect in a momentous way, There are different factors
that influence learning, so having an adequate infrastructure in educational institutions favor
the motivational and functional function of students.Improving the physical conditions of
an educational center has a direct relationship with the development of student learning, as
important as the influence of a family environment, new technologies, an excellent teaching
staff, interactive materials, etc. ( Mayorga , 2019 )
According to (Adajei ,2019) in his investigation “Institutional Factors Affecting the
Academic Performance of Polytechnic Students in Ghana” made in Ghana Africa, whose
objective is determine whether institutional factors have influence on students’ academic
performance.The methodology consists of A sample of 360 students. SPSS was used for the
data analysis which enabled us to get the percentage, mean and standard deviation values
The investigator concludes that literature review was done on institutional factors identified
and these factors include unfavourable learning environment, poor equipped departmental
and central libraries, methods of lecture delivery, overcrowded lecture rooms, unavailability
of recommended texts, late provision of reading/reference materials by lectures, Poor
internet facility and overcrowded exams time table.
