career day & High School Day
Farewell to the class of 2014! Before the seniors of the family can leave they must complete a research presentaion. I had the pleasure of listening to Bria Taylor's capstone about make-up and how it effects self esteem. Alot of the poiunt she made I agree with, but she also opened my eyes to a differnt way of looking at why woment use makeup. The final presentation I went to was of Patience Canty and the Curious Paradox of Dr. Seuss. I always knew that Dr. Seuss books had a hidden message in them, but Patience pointed out some things in the stores that I did not notice. For example the time periods that he was refering to in a story or how they were political cartoon turned into full length books. Next year is my year & seeing what this class has done means I have big shoes to fill.
Another chance to recruit for our beloved HU and Honors College family. The middle school students at the carreer day asked many quaetions as if this was our career. After understanding that we were still college students working towards our careers, they were intrested in knowing more about college. The high school students at high school day were more intrested in what it takes to be apart of such a great family like FTDHC. They also wanted to hear about my experience already being apart of the family.
Did someone say fun night? the final Honors College event was a big success! Food was served, games were play, and new family memebrs were met. UNV 300 made fun night one to remebr for our new family members.
