This is one of the biggest and maybe even the hardest life lesson to learn. I am one to
see things and want them not thinking about what comes after getting them. How
something looks to at the time I see it is not always how it will look the next day. I did
not liking accounting so I changed my major before really looking into what I could do
with an accounting degree. When I made this change I did not think about having to
play catch up to graduate on time, I just did not want to be an accounting major
anymore. My brother is a good example of someone who did not look at what was to
come before doing something. He saw an old Camaro he wanted so he bought it. The
car was bright blue, and loud. Then he added loud speakers to it. After having the car
for about a year he had received so many tickets for loud music he wanted to sell the
car. He did not think about what would happen when he was driving with loud music
in his car. To prepare myself better, I will look into what the decision has to offer me in
the future.
The Defining Decade an easy to read book by Meg
Jay. She has a natural, gentle style that great to read.
There are lots of stories. Some stories I laughed at,
boldly. Some I laughed at a little more nervously as
they landed closer to home. The real world stories
helped connected me to the book. I learned a lot
from the book. Great writing plus great storytelling
gives one compelling learning opportunity.
