winter’s
new
looks
We took a look around
town at some of our local
boutiques and asked the
style experts there what
we should be grabbing to
look our most Portland.
Let’s face it, we could use
the help. So unless you’re
running out at midnight
for cookie dough and red
wine (not that we do that
more than we’d like to
admit), leave the yoga
pants at home and get
these looks asap.

Sweater Weather
is Best Weather
Sasha from Yo Vintage gave us the skinny on
what everyone will be wearing to stave off the cold:
“Chunky, vintage sweaters; fur, wool trench coats
in creams and burgundy”. Dense materials and allover knits were seen on the runway this year – most
notably by Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney – and
Portland is the perfect “sweater weather” town.
Cape-town
Winter is here, and Portlanders are setting the trends
for Pacific Northwest style. Both Billy Goat Vintage
and Pendleton cited cape-coats and ponchos as hot –
or should I say “cool” – in the PDX. “The new Lindsay
Thornbird capes are selling out like hotcakes!” declared
the manager of the downtown Pendleton store, Vicki
Wooten. Both Burberry and Etro used ponchos as their
main theme for fall/winter; and Dolce and Gabbana
and Valentino were all about the capes.
