THE FINAL FOUR MEASURE UP AGAINST ONE ANOTHER IN THE SEMI-FINALS
It was all decided, the four best teams of the tournament would measure up against each other to reach the finals in hopes that it would be their team to lift the trophy. La Dolfina would play the first semi-final against underdog Cria Yatay, a team that turned out to be the big revelation of the tournament. The second semi-final would see the likes of Ellerstina and Alegria, two teams conformed by superlative skilled players. In the end Adolfo Cambiaso’ s La Dolfina would demolish Cria Yatay 27-4( with 10 goals by Cambiaso— 4 executed due to penalty and 2 corners, 4 goals by David Stirling, 4 by Pablo MacDonough and an impressive 9 by Martin Nero; a victory that would give La Dolfina its pass to the Final and the hope to get its 4th consecutive trophy at Palermo. On Sunday, December 4th the big « Z » Ellerstina faced the team led by Hilario Ulloa, Alegria. It turned out to be a close match where skill, passion and a true desire to win were more than evident. In the end, Ellerstina triumphed over Alegria 15-11, achieving its 10th pass in twelve years to the « gran final » and come face to face against the almighty La Dolfina.
