Consequences of Non Compliance
For minor infringements of school rules, detentions may be set or community service activities required.
In cases where harm has been caused to another, restorative practices are used in preference to
punishment in line with our school goal of Personal Growth in an Atmosphere of Wise Freedom. Major
infringements of school rules may result in suspension or expulsion. In this case, the student may be
readmitted only after consultation with parents. The recording of a suspension may be waived when
there are extenuating circumstances. This means that the suspension will not be recorded in the
student’s file if no other major infringements of school rules are incurred. For major violations of school
policies, expulsion may result.
It is the responsibility of all students to contribute actively to the creation of a safe, quality learning
environment for all members of the Sacred Heart community.
