Get In, Go Far with
Apprenticeships
An Apprenticeship lets you train while you work and still
get paid. You’ll learn and gain practical skills from the
workplace which set you on your route to your chosen career
There are
three types of
apprenticeships...
Level 2 - Intermediate
Level 3 - Advanced
Level 4 - Higher
What makes up an Apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships are made up of four key elements and by completing all of these you’ll have a
full framework certificate including professional skills and a nationally recognised qualification.
Now that is something worth putting in a frame. The apprenticeship framework is made up of...
A qualification (NVQ) which proves that you can
demonstrate competence in the relevant skill, trade
or occupation. Plus this looks great on your CV.
A technical certificate (where required) to show
understanding of the relevant theory or knowledge.
This is all about putting practice into theory.
Employers are looking for apprentices with great
employability skills - so it is essential to work
towards a functional skills qualification or
GCSEs in maths and English. These are critical to
starting an apprenticeship.
Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
in the workplace is a module which demonstrates
that you know and understand areas such as
employers rights, employment law, responsibilities,
diversity and health and safety.
