Traineeships prepare you for your next steps
by helping you become work-ready,
to secure an apprenticeship or other
sustainable jobs
What is a Traineeship?
Traineeships are perfect if you
need a short boost of confidence
or work experience.
As part of a traineeship you’ll undertake
an induction and a focused period of
work preparation training, covering areas
like CV writing, interview preparation,
working as part of a team, attendance
and workplace behaviour.
Plus, you’ll be given meaningful written
feedback and an interview – either for a
job vacancy where there is one available
or an ‘end of placement’ interview.

A key element is on-the-job work
experience with a local business
putting you directly into a work
environment with a dedicated team
of support and guidance.
You’ll also have the opportunity to gain
an accredited qualification to improve
your employability skills, looking at your
timekeeping, motivation and confidence
ready for an apprenticeship or job.
If you don’t already have grades
A*- C in English and maths then
these crucial employability skills are
also developed.
Who is it for?
Traineeships are available to 16 - 24 year
olds who are qualified below level three,
are not currently in a job and need to
brush up on their employability skills and
work experience.
If you want a fast-track route to an
apprenticeship or job then traineeships
are for you.
What can I earn?
You’ll get a weekly bursary plus support
with travel costs and a recommend-afriend scheme, so you can start earning
straight away.
