The two most distinct developments

The Present
I start my discussion on the present era
with the role played by Information
Technology (IT). I do so because I believe
that project management in the present
has been defined by the application of IT.
It has created a demand for project management skills far beyond the role for
which the profession was originally conceived, opening opportunities for skilled
project managers in every area of business, industry, academia, Government
and the non-profit sector. (Cicmil, 2006).
