6 NEWS Expanding operations to satisfy market’s call To meet the market’s demand for their product, Advanced Valves has expanded on their existing building and built a new factory next door. 1 1. 2. 3. Improvements in the production line create efficiency to meet volume demands. Each valve is pressure tested and calibrated to ensure a top-quality product. Advanced Valves manufactures all their own rubber washers, silicon ball pressure seals, and diaphragms for their product range. 2 3 May 2019 Volume 25 I Number 3 As part of their growth, the Proudly South African company has also made a significant investment in alternative energy solutions and will be able to continue production off-grid during the day with their impressive 72-panel solar photovoltaic system at their factory in Booysens, Johannesburg. This investment was a decision taken based on regular electricity supply issues as well as the devastating effect businesses face through load-shedding schedules. “We have now also installed a conveyer belt system and can boast excellent assembly lines that flow more efficiently, aiding in the production time of our products. We are also delighted that we have finished the expansion just in time for the winter season as according to experts, it’s going to be a cold one,” said managing director Richard Wiederhold. Advanced Valves employs a dynamic team that manufactures products that are individually tested and calibrated to ensure the necessary controls for the finest quality goods. Products are South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) approved and hold a two- year guarantee. From humble beginnings in 1994 as a reconditioning brass geyser valve business known as Valveco H20, Advanced Valves was born out of the market’s need for a new advanced geyser valve. This led to the development of a more modern unit, which has a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved metal replacement polymer body. Brass compression fittings are still used to attach to the pipework, much like the forged counterparts. The Advanced Valves range includes the AD-400 and AD-600 pressure control geyser valves that are capable of up to 10 000kpa. Other developed products include TEE PEE valves, for which the company makes their own thermostatic temperature sensing probes in-house, AD- VB Vacuum Breaker and AD-DR Drain Cock. The pressure relief valve (PRV) is a patented design and manufactured to the highest standards. PA www.plumbingafrica.co.za
