‘ The same but improved ’ – Kwikot / Electrolux transition

The transition of the Kwikot brand into Electrolux has now been finalised through a series of formal events organised by the company , with some announcements made to stakeholders and guests regarding how the transition will take place . The first such event took place on 1 June 2023 at The Leonardo in Sandton . Plumbing Africa was there to cover the event and catch up with some of the main players .
Those of our readers who are from South Africa will no doubt be familiar with the Kwikot brand , especially wet services and plumbing professionals who will have worked with their products over the years and will easily recognise their branding from various types of geysers and water heating products . As already published in the pages of Plumbing Africa , the brand has been relaunched as Electrolux Kwikot Water Care after being incorporated into the Electrolux Group , which itself is also a household name . With both companies having over a century of excellence in the domestic and industrial water heating industry , this was a very natural transition but has nonetheless raised some questions regarding what the future holds .
To mark the prestigious occasion of formalising the transition , a trio of events were held around the country in order to celebrate the launch of Electrolux Kwikot Water Care , with guests being invited to share in some drinks and enjoy some light-hearted entertainment while the announcement was made and questions were answered in grand fashion . Well known radio personality Darren ‘ Wackhead ’ Simpson was the MC for the Johannesburg event and the atmosphere at The Leonardo was one of excitement and expectation as the stage was set for an evening of festivities . Murray Crow , managing director of Electrolux South Africa , addressed the attendees at the function and compared the transition to “ the collision of two giants – each proudly carrying more than a century of history ”.
