During this time , students ‘ earns while they learn ’ and at the end of the three years , having passed the trade test , they are given assistance by BluLever to secure their first job with one of the participating plumbing companies .
However , this is no cap in hand scenario . The applicants , approx . 500 , in this round , are first vetted by Harambee , whittled down to 150 . These applicants then attend the company ’ s penultimate selection stage , called ‘ Finalist Day ’ whereby the candidates undergo a series of interviews , classroom activities and hand-skill tests in order for BluLever to select the top 45 . These 45 then attend the Leadership base Camp which acts as the final selection stage . After the two-month leadership course the top 30 students are selected for the apprenticeship course . The Campus is made up of four installation cubicles , tooling area , drainage area , classroom and computer room with offices above .
Apart from BluLever ’ s unique approach to training , the employers who have put up their hands in support of providing workplace training are to be commended , as are the manufacturers and suppliers who provide equipment .
