Get up to speed with the various options for clients to be able to advise them what is best for their needs. Although many clients will want a cheaper option, modernising a bathroom using quality products is a long-term investment because most bathrooms will only be renovated once, or maybe twice in the lifespan of the owner. Help your customer to choose products that offers guarantees and where spare parts are easily available for maintenance. The last thing you should want is to have to tell your customer that you have to replace a whole tap or mixer at their own cost because of spares – you will most likely not get to keep that client for future work, and it also affects the plumbing industry because the next time the customer needs a plumber they may already think they are going to have problems. Modernising a wash basin involves minimum effort. A new shower rail for extra comfort in the shower is also quick to install. Also consider the ‘future-proof’ aspects. Innovative technologies in the plumbing world have seen many developments related to the bathroom, so be sure to keep up to date with this technology so you can advise your client accordingly.
