Jeremie Malan , owner of Jeremie Malan Architects & Interiors , selected Corobrik ’ s Redwood Travertine face brick from the Rosema factory for the Sol-Tech project . “ The bonding in a face brick is very important , that ’ s what gives it its structural stability .” A variety of face brick bonds were used to give the building a three-dimensional quality , with patterns created by the shadows and openings . What is Dolomite ? It is rock composed of the mineral dolomite . It is relatively impervious and insoluble in pure water . dolomite possesses many fractures , joints and faults which act as passages for water ingress .
Dolomite land is defined as : Land underlain by dolomite or limestone rock directly or at shallow depth typically less than ,
• 60m in areas underlain by limestone ;
• 60m in areas underlain by dolomite where no watering has taken place and the local authority has jurisdiction , is monitoring and has control over the groundwater levels in the areas under consideration ; or
• 100m in areas underlain by dolomite where de-watering has taken place or where the local authority has no jurisdiction or control over groundwater levels .
