Carolyn Thome grew up in Rockville and now calls Point of Rocks, Maryland, her home. About eight years ago she started taking studio macro shots of mushrooms she was finding on her walks in the woods.
” Most of my mushrooms were collected in or near the Agricultural Reserve and brought back into my studio. As with many endeavors, I began looking for one thing, morels, and found much more than I could have imagined. These portraits show the artful environment we live in, and I want to share that.”
