61 Vineyard is a new on-farm winery in Montgomery County ’ s Agricultural Reserve . Our first vintage was 2020 , and our tasting room doors opened in October 2021 . We offer dry wines grown and produced on our farm , including Carbernet Franc , Merlot , Petit Verdot , Cabernet Savignon , Chardonnay , Albarino and Chardonel . Enjoy our wine tastings and flights , by the glass or bottle . Some snack items are available , including charcuterie .

Just off their backyard deck , the Suess ’ s have a sculptural metal pole with glass-encased bird feeder hanging from it , the object of the bear ’ s desire . Anne figured the bear to be at least four and a half feet when standing . “ He had a beautiful shiny black coat and looked like he was in really good shape .” With the deft focus of a surgeon the sitting bear bent the pole toward him , carefully removed the feeder and popped the birdseeds into his mouth . “ There was no broken glass , and the feeder was intact after he finished eating ,” marveled Anne .

The Potomac Hunt Races support the Potomac Hunt and their charity partner : Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors ( TAPS ) l Black bears are relatively timid and not typically aggressive ; they are much more likely to flee or hide . However , they can be aggressive when startled . l Never come between a mama bear and her cubs . If you do , offer to send her cubs to college . l Black bears are the smallest North American bears , ranging from 5-6 feet long from muzzle to tail . Females weigh from 110- 250 pounds . Males can weigh from 150 to 450 pounds . l A black bear ’ s diet consists of berries , cherries , other fruits , acorns , beechnuts , hickory nuts , insects , roots , grasses , reptiles , amphibians , and carrion . Acorns are the single most important food for bears in Maryland . l The largest black bear killed in Maryland weighed 615 pounds and stood nearly 7 feet tall .
