Ralph Waldo Emerson said it best when describing the wild exuberance of flowers as they express themselves and bring joy to others . That gift
of delight may last for a moment or go on to inspire agripreneurs who spread even more happiness . Such is the story of four enterprises that blossomed in the Agricultural Reserve .

Flowers bring such joy and beauty into people ’ s lives and it ’ s such a pleasure for us to provide that , in any way we can . In the future , we look forward to offering more workshops and makeyour-own-bouquet flower bars , and to continuing to build community around local flowers .

Sungold Flower Co .

Sungold Flower Co . is a creative collaboration between longtime friends Caitlin Robinson of Moonflower Farm in Dickerson and Anna Glenn of Rocklands Farm in Poolesville .
As flower farmers and florists , our design work is seasonally-inspired and hyper local . Most of the time , all the ingredients in an arrangement are sourced from within 30 miles or less , often exclusively from the Ag Reserve . This abundance-minded approach offers a true sense of time and place , similar to the “ terroir ” found in local food or wine .
In the garden we concentrate on growing perennials , low-maintenance annuals , and what we call the “ Queens ,” those blooms that stop you in your tracks . Thousands of specialty tulips , ranunculus , and peonies in the spring , and dahlias , sunflowers , and lisianthus in the summer and fall .
