SOME ENGLISH METHODS OF TELLING 67 Dealing the Cards by Sevens After the pack of thirty-two cards has been shuffled by the enquirer and cut with the left hand, the Diviner must count off seven cards, including the top card as the first. The seventh card should be placed face upwards to the left of the table to start the necessary row of cards. Repeat this four times and you will have four odd cards left over. Add these to the discarded cards and let the enquirer well shuffle them and cut as before. Once again deal them in sevens, taking the seventh card each time as before.
