General Features , Leaves , Flowers , Fruits
A biennial or , if it forms lateral buds , a perennial plant . The root is spindle-shaped . The richly leafy stem is straight , only weakly branched in the inflorescence , angular , ovate , in lower part covered with sparse protruding hairs , 20 – 100 cm high . The leaves are thin , bare , lowermost long-stalked , kidney-shaped , most often notched or blunt at the edge sawtooth . The upper leaves have gradually shorter petioles , their shape is triangular , or oblong-ovoid , at the edge they are blunt and mostly very unevenly saw-shaped . Kidney-shaped leaves they smell like garlic .
