WORLD NEWS International heavy lifting and transport specialist Mammoet is going small with 4t Hoeflon C10 models for rental and maintenance. The new cranes are Dutch-built Hoeflon C10 mini crawlers, which are telescopic models measuring just 800mm in width to fit through narrow gaps and doorways, making them a suitable design to operate in confined spaces. The Hoeflon C10 mini crawler has a maximum reach of 19m, at which it can lift 209kg. Its maximum hoisting height with all extensions is 22m. Weighing in at 4.7t, it can be fitted with a radio remote control. There is a dual power option, with an electric motor and a three-cylinder Yanmar diesel as available power sources. According to Mammoet, the new mini crawlers will run alongside its existing trailer and loader crane fleet for its industrial services customers. England construction equipment supplier A&Y Equipment recently became the sole UK and Ireland importer and distributor for Bergmann Series 3 000 and 4 000 dumpers. The German-made dumpers join a product portfolio at A&Y that also includes excavators, compactors, and telehandlers, and is a distributor for companies such as Ammann, Yanmar, Dieci, and Cormidi. The newly remodelled Bergmann ADT150 wheeled dumpers have a load volume of 8.5m³ and come with either a swivel, rear, or three-sided tip. They also have optional 180-degree rotating seats with reversing cameras, so the operator can always face the direction of travel. A&Y is also promoting the 10-tonne Bergmann 4010 tracked machine with swivel or straight skip, which also has a rotating seat option and cameras. A Linden Comansa 21LC75, from German rental and crane specialist BKL Baukran Logistik’s crane fleet, now stands on the parking deck of Berlin’s Ring-Centre mall. The 750-tonne giant, with maximum load capacity of 48 tonnes, will be installing 151 wood modules, each weighing almost eight tonnes, which form part of a hotel with a modular design concept. “A special feature of the Skypark hotel concept by MQ Real Estate is that it exploits the inner-city potential of adding another storey”, says Reiner Dinse from the Hannover office of BKL Baukran Logistik GmbH. He goes on, “The hotel’s modular design requires large wood modules, each 20 square metres and weighing some 7.5 tonnes, to be lifted up to 75 metres. Not many cranes can handle such a Herculean task,” he comments. Given the challenging requirements of load capacity and radius, the team chose a 21LC750 flat-top crane. Thanks to its 80-metre-long jib and the PowerLift system, this model is perfect to lift the modules from the street, around 20 metres below the site of the crane, to their destination on the abo
