The Joy Factor
A Common Sense Approach to a Delicious Life
PMR: What is your message and what makes you
so passionate about it?
WW: Think about this, when you are having a
good day, you are productive, engaged and happy.
When your day is less than good, you do not ac-
complish as much or enjoy time spent on activities.
I’m passionate about teaching people how to raise
their Joy Factor, so they are making the positive
impact they want to make in their career, business
and life.
O
ur Editor sat down with Wendy Watkins
CPCC, PCC, author of The Joy Factor Recipe
Book – A Common Sense Approach to a Delicious Life.
Wendy has worked with hundreds of people to
create successful, succulent lives and flourishing
businesses aligned with their purpose and
passions. Here’s what this successful speaker had
to share about her background and how she is
changing lives with speaking.
PMR: How did you get started as a Speaker?
WW: It all started when I was 5 years old. I
wanted everyone to watch me after dinner do a
little song and dance. The smiles on my family’s
face hooked me. At 17 I saw Dr. Wayne Dyer for
the first time and experienced the positive impact
that telling stories had on all of us collectively. My
first thought of, “Wow, I want to make a difference
in people’s lives like this.” As my coaching career
grew, I founded the Joy Factor philosophy and
wrote a book. My true desire to share the Joy
Factor Recipe Book-A Common Sense Approach to a
Delicious Life and bring this philosophy to more
people began after the book was published in 2012.
It’s about mental well-being and work-life balance.
The tools I teach support us in being happy, so we
share our gifts in a way that make us and others
feel good. Between the ages of 16 and 40, my time
was spent looking for joy outside of myself. It was
the kind of joy that went away when the brownie
was gone, the newness of the shoes wore off or the
party ended. I craved sustainable joy.
My quest for sustainable joy has taken me from
being a highly functioning prescription drug ad-
dict to a successful author, speaker and coach. I
know how to raise my Joy Factor and now share
my experience and wisdom, so others raise their
Joy Factor. This allows them to create a delicious
life and their own version of success.
PMR: What are some ways you make your
presentation interactive for Attendees?
WW: I begin the interactive process before the
scheduled engagement with a personalized video
inviting them to my presentation. This begins the
connection process. On the day of the event, I
mingle with the audience before the presentation
begins. This helps them (and me!), feel more
comfortable when the interactive part of the
presentation begins.
