HANDOUTS FOR FAMILIES AT THE BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
The more information you can provide your families on this night, the better! A PLA expectation is that we create a Family Events Calendar for our families prior to this night. This would be the perfect night to include this in your presentation and packet for families. By providing the calendar of events for the year now, you are giving your families enough notice to increase the likelihood of their attendance at these events.
Also, provide these dates for all stakeholders:
- Board members
- Local Recruiter
- Local Student Enrollment Coordinator
- School Staff
- National PLA Team
OVER-COMMUNICATE ABOUT ALL FAMILY EVENTS
Communicate at least 7 different ways about each event:
- School Newsletters
- Teacher Newsletters
- Add to Your School Marquee
- Robo Calls to Family
- Scholar Wrist Bands or Reminder Stickers
- Remind App/LiveSchool Reminders
