BUILDINGS EXPECTATIONS

Minimum bi-weekly newsletter sent to all families

(cc: ED, RD, CAO, CEO)

Emails and phone calls should be returned within a 24-48 hour window

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

WELCOME phone call/written note to all families at least one week prior to first day. See example script below:

Weekly newsletters sent to families including celebrations and upcoming events

“I’m Ms. PLA calling to let you know I will be Earl’s teacher this year, and I am so excited to meet him next week. <Share any Back to School Night information as well as first scholar day.> Please reach out to me at <email address> if you have any questions. I can’t wait to get started next week, and look forward to a great school year!”

Weekly progress reports (LiveSchool, academic, and behavior updates)

Teachers need to reach out to all parents during the first two weeks of school and provide a positive phone call home.

Email or phone responses expected within 24 hour window

Families should be contacted upon creation of a scholar Action Plan

Families should be updated after each Data Team meeting on new interventions and next steps

Parents should be encouraged to sign up for the LiveSchool Parent Portal in the first days of school
