So let’s stop hating on them and start appreciating what they do and respect them. Most cops would risk their lives by putting you before themselves to safety and most of them take pride in what they do and actually want to “serve and protect.”

What can we do to raise love for the police and reduce hate? We can and should start by something easy like a simple Facebook page. We should take down pages that involves hatred to the police, a page like this one:

These pages bring out the bad and only the bad of police. These pages destroy reputations, trust and love for the police and sometimes it would even promote violence towards police officers. Not liking the police is one thing and is understandable, but escalating to violence is never the appropriate measure. These pages not only promote violence but puts bad officers and departments on blast ruining the reputation with police in certain towns even further. Also what is the point of these websites? No matter what you do, no matter how hard you try you will never get rid of the police. It is an impossible task to try to remove the police force out of your community.

Instead of making “hate” Facebook pages, why not make good Facebook pages? A page similar to this one:

This page specifically posts stories of good cops, being good cops. It posts stories like the one in the picture, a cop helping a 98-year old woman with dementia find her home and escort her home safely. This page promotes lots of good stories and sends out positive vibes towards the police. A page to show what good the police can do. It is time that we notice and appreciate them. Positive Facebook pages could be the first step in showing appreciation towards police officers
