The report of the 2006 committee, chaired by Judge Wilson, states, “The SPC reaffirms the recently
revised TLS Mission Statement and School Philosophy … as the twin cornerstones upon which all school
policy and the strategic plan of The Lexington School are premised.”
Rob Brewer ’85, on both the 2006 and 2012 committees, first as board member, then board president,
says, “Strategic thinking carried TLS through a very tough time during the 2008 financial crisis. There’s no
doubt about that. When we acquired Scarlet Gate in 2010, that put TLS in a whole class by itself. Scarlet
Gate is a tremendous addition to our campus, a place we’re all proud of.”
The last paragraph of the 2012 Strategic Plan maintains, “This plan reflects the ideas of the school’s
parents, past parents, alumni, faculty, students, administration, and trustees. The committee took its
role seriously in collecting information from every segment of the school, distilling the priorities of the
community, and presenting an articulate plan – a roadmap for the future of The Lexington School.”
