Welcome
NEW TEAM!
Susan O’Brien
Susan O’Brien is back on campus, this time as The Lexington
School’s new Chief Financial Officer. After working with Bob
Thompson since January until his retirement on June 30, Susan
continues to keep a close and discerning eye on what transpires
throughout the campus at 1050 Lane Allen Road. She is as
knowledgeable discussing construction details of the ONE School
project as she is deciphering financial spreadsheets.
Susan has deep and varied ties with the school and has long
played a pivotal role in the excellence of TLS. She and husband,
John, are parents of Jennifer ’05, Michael ’08, Matthew ’08, and
Mark ’12. Susan is also a former trustee, and was treasurer of the
board from 2009 to 2012 during years of the Great Recession. She
is widely credited for successfully helping steer TLS through that
especially challenging time.
Susan knows and models the importance and the strength
of working together toward shared goals. She encourages her
many team members – the business office, IT, food service,
and building and grounds committee of the board – to partner
closely with all faculty and staff. She encourages integrated
conversations to envision and plan for what services are needed
for faculty, parents, students.
The Lexington School is fortunate to have Susan O’Brien back
on campus and back on board.
