To name a few things we can do: remove mold wherever it exists, eliminate rust on walls, driveways, and sidewalks, clear out plants growing from unusual places like gutters, remove dead plants and freshen up paint where needed. Additionally, power-washing hardscapes and soft-washing roofs could be beneficial. Even though the association owns the mailboxes, we could each help by painting them in the newly approved black color.
While backyards may not be visible from the street, many have years of overgrowth, and homeowners should address weeds and dead plants rather than relying solely on our landscaper and newly organized landscape committee to catch up after years of not being proactive.
It seems inconsistent to expect residents who keep their property well-maintained (THANK YOU) to contribute more when properties in our neighborhood could benefit from essential maintenance. Taking pride in our individual properties improves our community’s aesthetics and can positively impact property values. We should all walk around our property and evaluate what looks good and what needs attention.
