My special time with Mom was spent writing. I would ask her questions and write down her answers. Sometimes
she would ask the questions, and other times we would both write a story and share them with each other.

I cherish the time I was able to spend with Dad during those months. He was more open and expressive than he’ d ever been.
out either. He didn’ t ever want to be fussed over, but we all made sure to do little things for him. Mary Ann would decorate the house for every holiday and special occasion. She even helped him put the lights up outside for Christmas.
Sally would sit next to him the piano and they would play the most beautiful duets. They would make Mom be the audience, and act like it was a concert.
Jody of course made sure he kept his mind sharp by talking economics and politics with him. Sometimes she would even make out his schedule for the next week.
