I really did not want to sit down. I wanted to get to the hospital. Knowing I was probably going to need their help I took a deep breath and explained. " My mom had knee surgery a couple weeks ago. It was just a routine knee replacement, but she has been having trouble ever since then. They released her from the hospital after four days and she’ s been doing outpatient therapy every few days.
Yesterday Dad called me and said he was worried about Mom’ s knee. It looked red and was swollen around the stitches. He decided if it wasn’ t any better today he’ d take her to the doctor. That was him on the phone just now. Today her knee was swollen to twice its size so he made an appointment to take her to the surgeon tomorrow.
After dinner tonight, she passed out when she tried to stand up. He called the ambulance when she didn’ t come around right away and they took her to St. Agnes Mercy
Hospital. They’ re in the emergency room right now. They don’ t know

I shook my head to clear it, trying to grasp what was going on.
